4-day tour: The gateway to the desert.
The “Gateway to the Desert” Ouarzazate literally means “no noise,” and is reminiscent of the silent sentinels of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Once a small crossing point for African traders, the region attracted filmmakers in the 20th century, where scenes from films such as “Star Wars,” “The Last Temptation of Christ” and “Lawrence of Arabia” were shot. Many excursions through the Draa Valley and the desert begin here, and the town and its surroundings feature prominent Berber kasbahs that seem to emerge organically from the desert floor. This destination evokes an exotic atmosphere that will surprise even the most seasoned traveler. A fascinating journey to learn more about ancient Berber culture.
